Janessa Morgan was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Summer of 1994, Janessa’s family relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana. While in high school, Janessa set her sights high and decided that on becoming a live performer was her passion, so she began 4 years of intensive study at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), alongside classmates Anthony Mackie and Jason Marsalis. Excelling academically in the math and sciences, Janessa took an internship at Iowa State University completing the Women in Science and Engineering program, during the summer of 1997. Thriving in this engineering program and graduating 3rd in a class of 400 persuaded Iowa State to offer Janessa a full academic scholarship. Upon accepting one of the numerous scholarship offers, she attended Iowa State University as a Biology Pre-Medicine major. At the end of her senior year, her younger brother, Eric, fell ill, so she relocated back to St. Louis to help him as much as possible. Unfortunately, her brother passed and she took a few years to regroup while working various jobs as a microbiology research aide and lab technician. After years of committing to the sciences, Janessa realized her heart had never left the arts.

In late July of 2009, she literally walked in off the streets and auditioned, Carissimi’s Non Posso Vivere & I Have Nothing by Whitney for the St. Louis Black Repertory Company in hopes of finding her place in the world of theater. With one audition, the founder and director, Ron Himes, called Janessa back, leaving her speechless by offering her not only her first, but first lead part in any production: Sarah in Ragtime. Conquering the role of Sarah and receiving numerous heartwarming reviews, Janessa was also graced with the lead part of the Singing Virgin Mary in Black Nativity. According to Broadway World’s review of Ragtime, “…Janessa Morgan excels as Sarah.” K. Curtis Lyle of The St. Louis American also quotes, “Janessa Morgan excels in the role of Sarah. Her movement from a mute girl who abandons her child to the real hero of the play is impressive. Most of this is done with her beautiful voice and a killer smile. Although fated to become the ultimate tragic presence in the play, her incredible poise and charisma trump the intended effect of her death and leave her alive in all our minds.”

Following these two productions, Broadway World also reviewed her in Le Freak C’est Chic, a burlesque show, saying, “…Cabaret does have a high point with a sizzling performance of ‘Fever’ by Janessa Morgan……The second set was most effective, with a luscious version of ‘Inside My Love’ (with impossibly high soprano part easily aced by Janessa)…” In the start of 2013, Janessa was a lead vocalist in the St. Louis Whitney Houston Tribute where her incredible performance of I Will Always Love You led to DDM Productions’ CEO and Founder offering her the role of Leading Lady and Co-host, along side Temptations Tour member and R&B Group Ol Skool’s lead JANESSA A. MORGAN vocalist, CJ Jefferson in the Soul of Motown and America’s Hit Parade in Pigeon Forge, TN. Doing over 400 shows per year and the Soul of Motown having Janessa and CJ as a part of this five men-one woman cast, this show rocketed to and remained the #1 show on Trip Advisor for the duration of her stay. Humbled by hundreds of reviews of her live performances as co-host and lead vocalist, Janessa decided to continue to broaden & strengthen her repertoire by joining Gage Model and Talent Agency where she studied hosting technique, improvisation, dialogue, monologues, script, agent presentation, comedy, drama, cue card reading, teleprompter reading, partner relation, camera staging, cold reads and sitcoms with Joy Morris, former acting coach and talent agent of the William Morris Agency. As a quick study, within weeks, she booked a TGI Friday’s Commercial, was featured in Fatal Attraction and various episodes of Snapped on Oxygen and was a spokesmodel for Gillette Fusion and Paul Mitchell.

After 2 years of intensive study, Janessa took the bravest leap of faith and relocated to Los Angeles, California. Doing in only months, what usually takes years to do in the L.A., Miss Morgan put in beaucoup hours as a background actor on major network television shows and landed a National Honda Commercial, becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio (SAG-AFTRA). She has done feature spots in Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, Fuller House, Rosewood. She has been a principal character in Motown writer’s William “Mickey” Stevenson’s Les Gemmes, Alexa and Katie, Google/Snapchat Commercial and does voiceover work for Disney Family Store Time Live. Taking on an even greater challenge, Janessa completed 7 adventurous and riveting episodes of FOX’s American Grit Season 2 with WWE Superstar John Cena, where she absolutely stole the hearts of American. Following American Grit, Janessa did breathtaking performance in the feature film, Court of Appeals, as Cierra Wilson. This All-American actress, host, voiceover artist, dancer and singer, with an emphasis in opera possessing a 4.2 octave range, has just begun to tap the surface of the entertainment world and the best is yet to come as she continues intensive and master studies with Tasha Smith and Oscar winning acting coach, Jemal McNeil.

“There is a space that exists somewhere between the fantastical and the real. A stage is only a form of communication. The communicator, needs to know
their place on that stage – and without which, nothing can exist.
In my many years of entertaining and hosting world class acts on a global scale, I’ve yet to meet the passion, intensity and sheer indulgence of Lou
